Newdigate v Mogador Wanderers
After saying our goodbyes to Lechlade, the Mogs completed their 4th match in 4 counties with a much-anticipated match against Newdigate, one of the friendliest teams we play all season. It was roasting hot on Sunday and Hewitt was pleased to win his 4th toss in succession and elected again to bat first. The Mogs produced an extraordinary batting display and scored 307-5 off just 33 overs. Hewitt scored 65 off 55 balls, Furner scored 72* off 85 balls (more Botham than Boycott for Pete), but the real fireworks came from Freeland who hit 75 off just 24 balls and Johnny Parker who scored 33 off 10 balls, including 5 sixes off the first 5 balls of the over. The pitch was flat as a pancake and despite trying every trick in the book, the Mogs couldn't quite bowl Newdigate out, despite using 7 bowlers and taking some great catches. Newdigate finished on 255-8.

All in all it was a marvellous 4 days. We had perfect weather, played some great cricket, drank a lot of beer, ate well, suffered no injuries, or arrests and spread the gospel of Mogador into Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire & Wiltshire. There is every chance that we shall repeat the tour next year, so long as we have the same fantastic support that we enjoyed this year.
